Twisted Ribbon Bangles

Learn how to create twisting, stacking silver bangles

About the Class

Create a beautiful twist on a classic silver bangle while building confidence with forging, shaping, and soldering techniques.  In this class, you’ll learn how to prepare and forge simple round wire before twisting it into a wonderfully tactile design and soldering it into a finished bangle.

These bangles are lovely worn individually, but they look especially beautiful stacked together, so once you’ve made one it’s very hard to stop there!

I use a rolling mill to forge the wire in the class, but if you don’t have access to one, don’t worry — a smooth planishing hammer works well too, although it takes a little more time and effort.  This is a satisfying project that combines simple techniques to create a finished piece that looks elegant, handmade, and full of character.

The Twisted Ribbons Bangles class is part of the Jeweller's Bench Membership - click here for more details.

If you’d like extra support while working through the class, you’re very welcome to join us in The Jeweller’s Bench Café Facebook group, where you can ask questions, share your progress, and see what other students are making along the way.
